Love this 5630 but..................GRIPE
I am absolutely flabbergasted. Bought this beautiful I7 laptop and can't increase the RAM. Come On Dell. I'm an American I don't pay attention to detail when purchasing on Amazon.

I have a new 5630. Don't have a need for more memory, even when running recording studio programs. And, I did my homework before purchasing (direct from Dell).

If you're within the return period your seller offers, return the system and order a 7000 series (Inspiron 7640), which does have socketed, upgradeable memory.

All an effort to make laptops thinner and cheaper. HP is also the same as well.
My recommendation, if you purchase a laptop with onboard RAM that can't be extended, purchase one that has at least 16 GB of RAM to ensure you have enough available for your programs and for software updates.
