Installing a full height LTO5 drive in a TL2000
So I am deploying a TL2000 for a client on a budget, the previous owner of the TL2000 updated it to the latest firmware before shipping it out. I checked the firmware package and it only contains firmware for the LTO6, LTO7, and LTO8 drives.
Would I still be able to install and update an LTO5 tape drive using it itdi or am stuck with having to use a LTO6+ drive for this deployment?

Just download an older version of the package like https://www.dell.com/support/home/de-de/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=fgj3t&oscode=wnt5&productcode=powervault-tl2000

yes you can do it, sometimes chassis doesn't support the drive at that time you need firmware to upgrade or Downgrade the chassis or LTO firmware.
